Evaluation

Overall, I am pleased with my final product and how much it resembles the original video that we was recreating. The city centre was a great location as it provided us with similar architecture as well as plenty of lighting. Also myself (Acting) and Luke Hallet (Cameraman) decided to begin filming at 9 o'clock as this allowed us to film the light shot that pans down and fades to the same shot but at a later time. This also meant that there were a lot less interruptions  in terms of people walking in frame however this could be seen as a flaw as in the original there were a few people that would walk into the frame.

The things that I would change about the final product is a few shots that wasn't as successful as I had hoped. The first shot is the opening shot as the angle was more of presented as more of a high angle shot than a birds eye view shot. The final thing that I would change would be is the fade effect 20 seconds through as although we had the shots needed we couldn't figure out how to fade them into each other.

The thing I found most challenging was choosing an achievable song with the resources available. I say this because I originally decided to recreate The Vaccines- If you wanna, however due to overbooking of the theatre and time available for cast this was unachievable. Although I did manage to create the beginning quarter of the song.

In terms of what I would do different next year for my A2 product is consider the song choice and video more thoroughly as I lost a lot of time from having to restart my idea and video. Also I would maybe consider looking at a lot more videos within the pop genre as they seemed to be more appealing and effective to recreate.

By doing this task not only did I become more confident with a camera I also improved my editing skills. Also I now know to ensure that I am more prepared when doing such projects as during the shooting for If you wanna I realised how unprepared and deficient myself and group were.

Overall I feel as though this was a great product to recreate for the transition project as I learnt a lot of useful and relative things that will be very beneficial throughout the A2 year.
